A Grape Vine after the Rain

It’s one of my favorite times to walk around with my camera, right after a rain. These droplets were in just the right balance between saturation and gravity. Also, this photo has almost no post-processing. It’s rare for me to post something without having doctored it, because doctoring photos is my favorite part of the process.

Brilliant

This is pretty obviously an HDR processed photo. I used it to bring out the color and the texture of the flower. I’m especially pleased with the contrast between the flower and the unfocused background, bathed in sunlight.

Motorcycle Man

We were on our way to my nephew’s wedding in some unfamiliar part of the state, parked while my parents made a pit stop and my brother purchased me some beverage. Then this young guy stepped up, helmet on, and mounted his motorcycle. He noticed me holding up my phone and gave me the “right on” gesture. Either that or he was warning me that I might get my nose punched.

PHOTOGRAPHS FROM THE ROAD

I spent the last 20 years of my career traveling the globe, promoting modern principles for educating today’s children. In those travels, I found that I was spending my time in hotel rooms and not getting out and enjoying the exotic (and not so exotic) places. So I took up photography, as a way of getting me out into this world I was privileged to be visiting. These are some of my favorite photos.
