This is my arrangement of Kashmir by Led Zeppelin, with assorted drone photography laid over it. The greatest fun is editing the video and images to fit over the music. The next greatest fun is programming the music.Jun 3, 2017

A Grape Vine after the Rain
It’s one of my favorite times to walk around with my camera, right after a rain. These droplets were in just the right balance between saturation and gravity. Also, this photo has almost no post-processing. It’s rare for me to post something without having doctored it, because doctoring photos is my favorite part of the process.

Early Hydrangea Blooms
Often, it’s the less than perfect and symmetric flowers that draw my attention. I used Photomatix Pro to HDR process this photo, bringing out the color and texture.

Mountain Laurel in Bloom
We are lucky to have a grove of mountain laurels on our property. We’re actually somewhat outside their range, and they are struggling with our heat. But mostly they are striving and beautiful in bloom.

Sun Drenched Rose Plan
This photo is a bit out of focus, but I didn’t mind that. It’s about the light. In a sense all photography is about the light, but sometimes it is the behavior of that catches my eye, not how it illuminates some object.
Brilliant
This is pretty obviously an HDR processed photo. I used it to bring out the color and the texture of the flower. I’m especially pleased with the contrast between the flower and the unfocused background, bathed in sunlight.

Motorcycle Man
We were on our way to my nephew’s wedding in some unfamiliar part of the state, parked while my parents made a pit stop and my brother purchased me some beverage. Then this young guy stepped up, helmet on, and mounted his motorcycle. He noticed me holding up my phone and gave me the “right on” gesture. Either that or he was warning me that I might get my nose punched.

Birthing Fern
It’s one of the sites of spring, seeing the ferns, down in our back yard, unfurling and opening up to the glistening sunlight that reaches them through the trees.

PHOTOGRAPHS FROM THE ROAD
I spent the last 20 years of my career traveling the globe, promoting modern principles for educating today’s children. In those travels, I found that I was spending my time in hotel rooms and not getting out and enjoying the exotic (and not so exotic) places. So I took up photography, as a way of getting me out into this world I was privileged to be visiting. These are some of my favorite photos.
Yates Mill Pond
A fly over Yates Mill Pond and to the historic (1766) grist mill. The quadcopter is a DJI Phantom 3 Pro drone. I used Logic X Pro and a Novation Impulse 49 keyboard to make the music.
